With this book you need to make 3 decisions.1) Is Dan Gallapoo right in saying that if you want to both short-cut into a career as copywriter, and build your credibility as someone who can sell, you need to be a Kitchen Table Entrepreneur?2) Is selling your own products, and doing both offline and online marketing the best way for you?3) Is Dan Gallapoo someone you want to listen to?With Dan, what you see is what you get, what he knows and what he believes in, because that's the route he's gone. He's opinionated and honest, and IMO, worth getting to know better.I give the book a 3, because it's a bit light on the how-to stuff, and because I disagree with using Google's Keyword tool (in its current state) as anything other than an auxiliary keyword tool. If it had a checklist at the back of the book that presented what you needed to do in a concise form, then I'd have given it a 4.
It is easy to see how the copywriting industry is skilled in promoting their own product; easy to see the funnels designed to move you through to the next purchase. Like a good salesman, DobermanDan shows his hand and plays it well in full view. A great, quick read.
Survival of the fittest? Of course, the deal is done when you get paid to write. The key is finding the right clients, and putting enough effort into the project to get the best results. I found the book helpful and insightful about 80% of the time. Some dry reading, but necessary.
It was exactly the gentle nudge, I needed to see past the psycological barriers I had put in place to "force myself to pay my dues" with needless toil and struggle...That Is not to say that I won't work, just I won't have to do several fruitless mentally torturous activities that teach me the hard lessons Dan has outlined here...Dan basically gives you a shortcut method to multiply your income as a copywriter even while working on your skills that ultimately position you as an expert because... by golly if you do it you frigging will be...
