The book was an overall disappointment regarding what it touts to inform about and what information it actually contains. Besides contributing nothing new to the plethora of information available about jewelry the images were often unrelated to the topic discussed on a particular page. There is an abundance of books available for half the expense of this book that provide detailed, well explained information about jewelry so I would recommend passing on this one.
Outside of gemology classes, this is the most informative book on gems and jewelry currently in print.
This book is beautifully illustrated as you would expect, but the real value is in the most informative text by these experts.
